Hotels Ireland Review - February 2016

Why Stay Here?
- Contemporary luxury and traditional elegance.
- Great location and views of Cork City.
- Perfect for weddings and conferences.
The location of Cork's Ambassador Hotel is particularly attractive. Arriving by car you find ample free parking in the grounds outside the impressive building which has been beautifully refurbished. The hotel is also just minutes walking distance from Cork's Kent train station, Airport Bus and the City Bus terminal. First impressions are very good, as the traditional red stone Victorian exterior, which dates back to 1872, is complimented with a contemporary outside seating and dining area, and is stunningly lit-up after dark. First and second floor central bedrooms enjoy individual balconies and the hotel's exterior has a majestic appearance while stepping into the bright open reception area is a truly modern experience.
Acommodation at the Ambassador Hotel
There are 70 bedrooms and suites, including the beautiful Bridal Suite, and all have been refurbished to a very high standard. I love the soft grey tones included in the decor throughout the hotel, and the wide corridors and high ceilings are a pleasant change from the space restricted design of many modern hotels. I enjoyed one of these balcony bedrooms which looked out over the city and by night gave a seriously impressive view. A lovely spot to enjoy a digestive!
